Privacy
Emberhold keeps as little as it can. The short version: focus and breaks need no account, and nothing here is sold.
On your device
A random anonymous id (no name) is stored locally so the live “who’s focusing” count works and, if you leave it on, optional usage stats can be grouped without identifying you. Your settings and saved look live in your browser too.
If you make an account
Signing in is optional and only saves your progress across devices. It stores the username you choose (or your Discord sign-in) and your saved progress, with Supabase. No real name is required, and there is no payment information — the app is free and its looks and titles are for show, never for sale.
Usage data (optional)
Aggregate page analytics (via Vercel) and anonymous focus stats — when a session happened, never what you were working on — help me see whether the calm approach works. You can turn the focus stats off in Settings; they are tied only to that anonymous id, never to a name.
What never happens
No data is sold or shared for advertising. There is no cross-site tracking and no payment data, because nothing in Emberhold is for sale (status and cosmetics carry no real-money or tradeable value).
Your control
Turn off usage data any time in Settings. To delete an account and its saved progress, reach out and I’ll remove it.
Age
Emberhold is not directed to children under 13.
